Yes. Sap and bird droppings are two of the most acidic contaminants that land on car paint, and the longer they sit, the deeper they etch. We see this constantly on cars parked under the eucalyptus and Monterey cypress trees along the park's edge. An interior detail or full detail can take anywhere from two to four hours depending on the condition of the vehicle — a car that's been sitting outside in the Richmond fog for months will take longer than one that gets cleaned regularly.
